Air Canada inaugurates Montreal-Bucharest flights

Air Canada has issued this statement:

The arrival of Air Canada flight 1928 at Bucharest’s Henri Coandฤƒ International Airport marks the launch of twice weekly Air Canada Rouge seasonal service to Bucharest, Romania. Flights will be operated with Air Canada Rouge Boeing 767-300ER aircraft featuring Premium Rouge and Economy class service and are timed to optimize connectivity from across Air Canada’s network through Air Canada’s Montreal hub.

In 2018, Air Canada is launching ten new destinations from Montreal: London, Windsor, Victoria (Canada); TokyoNarita, (Japan); Phoenix, Pittsburgh and Baltimore (U.S.); Dublin (Ireland); Lisbon (Portugal) and Bucharest (Romania).

Airย Canada, Airย Canadaย Rouge and its regional airline partners flying under the Air Canada Express banner operate on average approximately 2,400 flights per week between Montreal and 97 destinations: 26 in Canada, including 9 in Quebec, 23 in the United States, 26 in the Caribbean, Central America and Mexico, 16 in Europe, one in China, two in North Africa, one in the Middle East, one in South America and starting in June 2018 one in Japan (Tokyo).

Air Canada to launch daily, seasonal Calgary-Palm Springs and Edmonton-Las Vegas flights

Air Canada on March 7 announced it will launch daily, seasonal flights between Calgaryย and Palm Springs, and between Edmonton and Las Vegas starting onย October 28, 2018.ย  connecting off our international flights.”

Air Canada is also increasing the frequency of its flights from Calgary to Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, Phoenix, and from Vancouver to Phoenix and Palm Springs.

The new Calgary to Palm Springs, and Edmonton to Las Vegas flights will be onboard Air Canada Airbus A320 and Air Canada Rouge Airbus A319 aircraft (above) respectively, both offering premium and economy cabins.

Air Canada rouge to expand to Quebec City

Air Canada rouge is expanding it route map to Quebec City. According to Airline Route, rouge will start operating in Quebec City on July 1, 2018 and will take over the two Air Canada Express routes from YQB to both Montreal (Trudeau) and Toronto (Pearson).

Air Canada launches Montreal-Lima service; first year-round nonstop South American flights from Montreal

The arrival of flight AC1942 at Lima’s Jorge Chรกvez International Airport on the morning of December 17, 2017 marked the successful launch Air Canada’s nonstop service between Montreal and Lima, Peru, Montreal’s first year-round link to the southern hemisphere. The twice weekly flights will be operated by Air Canada Rouge with 282-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft featuring Premium Rouge and Economy class service.

“Air Canada is continuing its global expansion with the launch of MontrealLima the first South American route from our Montreal hub that will offer business and leisure travelers as well as freight forwarders from Quebec and Atlantic Canada convenient access to Peru. This new route will complement our existing flights from Toronto, and strategically position Air Canada as an important player in the growing market between Montreal and Latin America. South America will be the third new continent Air Canada serves from Montreal in two years, after Africa (Casablanca and Algiers) and Asia (Shanghai.),” said Benjamin Smith, President, Passenger Airlines at Air Canada. “This concludes an exceptional year of growth out of Montreal-Trudeau with the introduction of eight new destinations. Our global expansion will continue next year as we have already announced service to eight new destinations including TokyoNarita (Japan), Dublin(Ireland), Lisbon (Portugal) and Bucharest (Romania). Over the past five years Air Canada has increased capacity from Montreal by 83% and added 29 new destinations.”

 

This new route also leverages Montreal as a pivotal connection point for cargo. This new route will facilitate the flow of air freight between Lima and other key markets in Air Canada’s network, including Shanghai, Tokyo, Tel Aviv, London, Frankfurt, Paris, Brussels and other major trade points.ย  The schedule provides for one of the best transit times available.
