Alaska and Virgin America unveil their Airbus A321 “Most West Coast” logo jet

Alaska Airlines and Virgin America have unveiled their new Airbus A321neo recently delivered to Virgin America. The new airliner wears this special “Most West Coast” livery to celebrate the fact that both carriers cover the U.S. West Coast more than any other carrier.

N925VA was delivered on December 2, 2017 and has just adopted this special livery. N925VA has very small “Operated by Virgin America” titles near the nose, pending future painting with Alaska Airlines titles.

Alaska Air Group serves 118 destinations with nearly 1,200 daily flights in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica and Cuba. This includes markets flown by Virgin America as well as Horizon Air, SkyWest Airlines and PenAir, which provide feed traffic to Alaska Airlines under capacity purchase agreements.

With West Coast hubs in Seattle/Tacoma; Portland, Oregon; Anchorage, Alaska; San Francisco and Los Angeles; Alaska calls Seattle home. Alaska Air Group offers more flights to more destinations from the Pacific Northwest than any other airline.

The Virgin America brand will be retired in 2019. The current Virgin America Airbus A319 and A320 fleet is expected to be repainted starting in early 2018.

ALC delivers the first Airbus A321neo to Azores Airlines

Air Lease Corporation (ALC) on December 14, 2017 announced that Azores Airlines-SATA International (Portugal) received its first new Airbus A321neo aircraft. This aircraft is the first of six CFM Leap 1A engine-powered A321neos to be delivered to Azores Airlines from ALC’s order book with Airbus. The next five A321neos will deliver between now and early 2021.

The pictured Airbus A321-253N D-AVYI became CS-TSF (msn 7972) on the handover. The airliner is painted in a special “Breathe” livery.

The airline, fully owned by SATA (Sociedade Açoreana de Transportes Aéreos) becomes the first Portuguese operator to receive a member of the A320neo Family. By way of an extensive transatlantic network, these aircraft will connect Portugal and Azores to cities in the United States and Canada, in addition to major Western European cities.

The six new ALC A321neo aircraft will progressively replace Azores’ aging Airbus A310s on routes from Azores to the USA and Canada as well as on the airline’s high frequency network to Portugal and Western Europe.

Wow Air to launch low-fare flights from New York JFK

Wow Air will begin service to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) this spring, with the inaugural flight from the United States’ busiest international airport scheduled for April 26, 2018.

Additionally, the airline is extending service out of Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) with 13 flights per week starting May 2018.

$99 one-way tickets from JFK will go on sale for passengers looking to travel to

Paris,Amsterdam, London Stansted, Frankfurt, Dublin, Copenhagen and Berlin.

To celebrate the new route, special prices will also be available out of the following US cities to select locations:

From Newark (EWR), Cleveland (CLE) and Cincinnati (CVG) to Paris (CDG), Amsterdam (AMS), London (STN), Frankfurt (FRA), Dublin (DUB), Copenhagen (CPH) and Berlin (SXF) via Iceland.

Launched in November 2011, Wow Air now connects 38 destinations across North America, Europe and the Middle East with Iceland. In 2016, Wow Air flew with 1,668,773 passengers in total, which is an increase of 130% from 2015.
