ATRAN Airlines introduces a new freighter route from Shenzhen to Cologne/Bonn

ATRAN Airlines, anย express carrier within Volga-Dnepr Group, launched aย new route connecting Shenzhen (China) with Cologne/Bonn (Germany). The flight will beย operated onย aย weekly basis aboard Boeing 737-800BCF.

Shenzhen is one of the major Chinese cities populated by over 17 million people, a global center in technology, research, manufacturing, finance and a major transportation port. Being the home of many technology companies, the city is the major exporter of high-tech products, alongside e-commerce, fashion, healthcare and general cargo.

ATRAN Airlines offers its customers dedicated solutions for transportations ofย various types ofย cargoย โ€” general, e-commerce, dangerous goods, live animals and others. The company operates aย fleet ofย Boeing 737 freighters and links the cities ofย China with Russia and Europe. Itย has recently enlarged its fleet ofย B737 freighters which now consists ofย 3ย Boeing 737-400SF and 6ย B737-800BCF.

About ATRAN Airlines

ATRAN Airline (ATRAN LLC) was founded inย 1942 and isย one ofย the oldest Russian air carriers. Since 2011, itย has been part ofย the Volga-Dnepr Group ofย Companies.

ATRAN Airline provides scheduled express flight services onboard its up-to-date fleet ofย freighters consisting ofย Boeing 737-400SF and Boeing 737-800BCF. All the flights are operated inย line with the current network and strict schedule, which enables the carrier toย deliver cargo quickly and efficiently. Along with scheduled cargo operations, ATRAN offers its customers various cargo transportation services covering charter flights thus complementing the โ€˜Cargo supermarketโ€™ concept within the Volga-Dnepr Group. ATRAN Airlines expands its Chinese coverage

ATRAN Airlines, express air cargo carrier within Volga-Dnepr Group, has expanded its network with bringing Shijiazhuang (China) into the loop. The carrier intends toย operate the flights onย aย weekly basis toย Vnukovo International Airport inย Moscow (Russia) where itย isย based.

The maiden flight, which was operated on August 8, 2020, lifted almost 15ย tons ofย e-commerce-related consolidated cargo. ATRAN isย planning toย deploy both types ofย its freightersย โ€” Boeing 737-400SF and Boeing 737-800BCFย โ€” toย guarantee high-quality services for its customers and final consignees who expect on-time delivery ofย their online purchases.

With Shijiazhuang being the capital ofย Hebei Province and neighboring Beijing and Tianjin toย the north, the city covers the catchment area ofย North China. After booming growth ofย e-commerce and its penetration across first-tier cities ofย China, second-tier cities, likes ofย Xiโ€™an and Shijiazhuang, are becoming active game-players and accumulate stable traffic toย Russia.

Shijiazhuang isย the latest addition toย ATRANโ€™s network which complements existing Xiโ€™an, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Urumqi and Zhengzhou most effectively and will provide greater delivery options for ATRANโ€™s customers.

Atran Airlines takes delivery of its first Boeing 737-800BCF

Atran Airlines, the Russian air express carrier within Volga-Dnepr Group, has enlarged its fleet with the delivery of its first Boeing 737-800BCF (VQ-BFS), increasing its total number of freighters to five.ย

Having successfully completed certification of the Boeing 737-800BCF in Russia, the airline will be the first to operate this type of freighter, enabling Atranโ€™s customers to benefit from its enhanced operational capabilities and more solutions for cargo deliveries.ย

The additional airplane will boost the carrierโ€™s capacity and guarantee a wider choice of logistics solutions for its customers linking routes between Russia, the CIS and Europe. The freighter has already operated its first flights from Moscow (Vnukovo) to Norilsk and Yakutsk carrying much-needed essential consumer goods for the population of the Siberian and Far Eastern parts of Russia, including perishables, general cargo and e-commerce shipments.ย

In addition to accommodating 11 standard aviation pallets (2235ร—3175 mm) and containers in the cargo compartment, the Boeing 737-800BCF incorporates a reconfigurable cargo handling system which can be easily adjusted for various types of ULDs. Its advanced technical characteristics, together with ICAO Stage 4 noise certification, make it an ideal aircraft for European short and medium-haul cargo operations, enabling easy and seamless deliveries of express and mail consignments.

The Boeing 737-800BCF is a newcomer to Volga-Dnepr Group and complements its existing fleet of An-124-100, Il-76TD-90VD, Boeing 747F and Boeing 737-400F, therefore expanding the Groupโ€™s airfreight solutions.

Volga-Dnepr Group signs MOU for 20 additional Boeing 747-800F freighters

Boeing (Chicago, Seattle and Charleston) and Volga-Dnepr Group (Moscow) (Volga-Dnepr Airlines, Atran Airlines and AirBridgeCargo Airlines), a world leader in transportation of unique, oversize and heavy cargo, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to further the Groupโ€™s fleet expansion with 20 additional 747-8 Freighters (above), valued at $7.4 billion at list prices.

The agreement also adds the Antonov-124-100 aircraft (below) to the long-term logistics support for Boeing and its partners.

According to Boeing:

Boeing and Volga Dnepr have a long history of successful partnership. The Group has already supported Boeing in a number of shipments. The unique technical abilities of the Antonov 124-100, along with Volga-Dnepr’s 25 years of global operations and experience gained in transportation of aviation equipment, will further serve Boeing’s logistics needs.

For Volga Dnepr Group, adding more 747-8 Freighters will allow development of the Group’s scheduled business, AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC), and keep the airline’s high growth rates. Volga-Dnepr Group was the first to order the Boeing 747-8 Freighter in Russia and took delivery of its first 747-8 Freighter in 2012. These additional 20 airplanes will be acquired through a mix of direct purchases and leasing over the next seven years.

The new 747-8 Freighter gives cargo operators the lowest operating costs and best economics of any large freighter airplane while providing enhanced environmental performance. It is optimized to provide greater revenue cargo-carrying capability than the 747-400, offering 16 percent more cargo volume while keeping its unique nose door.
