Bangkok Airways announces the resumption of the Bangkok – Krabi route, loss in 2021 grows

Bangkok Airways has announced the resumption of its direct services between Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) and Krabi, starting on March 27, 2022.

The resumed services between Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) and Krabi will be operated 1 flight daily with an Airbus A319 aircraft. The outbound flight, PG261 departs Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 08.15hrs. and arrives Krabi airport at 09.40hrs. The inbound flight, PG262 departs Krabi airport at 10.40hrs. and arrives  Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 12.10hrs.

On the financial side, the airline reported its 2021 total revenue was down 44.5% to $174.0 million (US) and its net loss grew 61.4% to $264.1 million.

Bangkok Airways welcomes its 40th aircraft to its fleet

Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited led by AM. Dechit Chareonwong, Vice President of Flight Operations (center) and Mr. Nijjapat Piyapant, Vice President of Ground Operations (4th from right) welcomed the latest Airbus A319 as the 40th aircraft to its fleet at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

This aircraft type consists of 144 economy class seats and will be served popular domestic and international routes such as Chiang Mai, Phuket, Samui, Krabi, Myanmar (Yangon, Mandalay), Cambodia (Siem Reap, Phnom Penh), India (Mumbai) and Vietnam (Danang). This includes the city of Cam Ranh which is the airline’s latest route starting January 25.

Currently, Bangkok Airways’ fleet consists of 4 ATR 72-500s, 11 ATR 72-600s, 16 Airbus A319s and 9 Airbus A320s.

Borussia Dortmund signs cooperation deal with Bangkok Airways as its regional partner

Borussia Dortmund, one of Europe’s most successful football clubs with a traditionally strong fan base in Asiaand the world, announces Bangkok Airways, Thailand-based regional airline, a “Regional Partner of Borussia Dortmund” at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund, Germany.

The cooperation deal includes a variety of advertising and promotional components of the co-branding campaigns in Thailand, Southeast Asian countries, mainland China, Hong Kong, India and Bangladesh which will enhance the airline’s brand recognition across the region.
