Air Canada Rouge celebrates its fifth birthday

Air Canada Rouge is celebrating its birthday, marking five years of providing customers with memorable beginnings and endings to their holidays. From its first flight on Canada Day 2013, Air Canada’s leisure carrier has grown to more than 50 aircraft from four, expanded to over 100 routes on five continents from an initial 14 routes, flown more than 25 million customers, and directly created 2,000 high-quality jobs for Canadians.

For summer 2018, Air Canada Rouge has added more exciting international and domestic routes, including: Toronto and Montreal to Bucharest; Toronto to Porto and Zagreb; Toronto to Nanaimo and Kamloops, B.C.; Montreal to Lisbon and Montreal to Victoria, B.C.

Launched on July 1, 2013, Air Canada Rouge has continually refined its services for customers, including upgrades to its streaming in-flight entertainment system, new onboard food options and enhancements to the Premium Rouge cabin. Air Canada Rouge has also begun offering high-speed, satellite internet aboard its aircraft, giving customers access to the fastest internet service on a Canadian airline.

Air Canada files for Toronto-Rio de Janeiro service

Air Canada (Montreal) has filed an application with the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC ) of Brazil to fly from Toronto (Pearson) to Rio de Janeiro (Galeão Airport) with three weekly frequencies according to Melhores Destinos. Air Canada has proposed to start the new route on December 12. This follows the recent announcement by TAM Airlines that it wants to fly to Toronto from Sao paulo.

Under the application, flight AC 98 will depart from Toronto at 1:55 a.m. (0155) and arrive in Rio de Janeiro at 12:25 (1225). Return flight AC 99 will depart from Galeão at 9:45 p.m. (2145) and arrive in Toronto at 8:45 a.m. (0845) the following day. AC proposes to start operations with Boeing 767-300 equipment.

Air Canada to add Vancouver-Tokyo Haneda service

Air Canada (Montreal) announced it is boosting service to Tokyo by adding a new daily, nonstop flight between Vancouver and Haneda Airport, conveniently located near the Japanese capital. The new route begins on January 29, 2011 and will complement existing daily flights to Narita International airport, meaning Air Canada is doubling daily service between Vancouver and Tokyo as part of its international expansion strategy.

The airline’s new flights to Haneda will be operated onboard 211-seat Boeing 767-300 ER aircraft.

Air Canada (Montreal) will add seasonal Boeing 767-300 ER service from Calgary to both Honolulu and Kahului (Maui) on December 5.
