The company is a Thai-South Korean joint venture. It is led by Thai logistics businesswoman Manika Sawasdipan and undisclosed South Korean partners.
Crystal Thai has leased an Airbus A320-200 with 174 seats and is also leasing a larger Airbus A330-200 in March 2011 to support long-range flights. A second A320 is expected to join the fleet by the end of 2011.
The airline will launch operations on February 3, 2011 from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) to Seoul (Incheon) and Muan in South Korea. Other planned destinations include Mumbai and Cochin in India, Manila (Clark), Colombo, Bhutan, Dubai and Phuket.
