Embraer rolls out the E195-E2

In a ceremony held on March 7, 2017 at the Company’s facilities in São José dos Campos, Embraer presented the largest aircraft of the second generation of the E2-Jets family, the most efficient aircraft in the single aisle jet market: the E195-E2 (PR-ZIJ). With the first flight scheduled for the coming months, the jet is expected to enter into service in the first half of 2019.

The E195-E2 has three additional rows of seats, when compared to the current generation E195, and it can be configured with 120 seats in two classes of service, or up to 146 in a single class. The aircraft also has a significant increase in range of 450 nautical miles, which allows trips of up to 2,450 nautical miles.

The aircraft has a dedicated wing, with the highest aspect ratio among single-aisle jets, increasing fuel efficiency. In addition to a more balanced specification, Embraer applied over 17 million hours of flight experience on today’s E-Jet fleet of over 1,300 units to come up with the optimal E2 design. For example, being designed with an intelligent combination of materials, the E195-E2 can carry 10% more passengers than a direct competitor and still have the same weight.

Embraer will use two aircraft for the E195-E2 certification campaign. The first prototype will be used for the aerodynamic and performance tests. The second prototype, which will also make its inaugural flight by the end of this year, will be used for the validation of maintenance tasks and of the interior.

Since its launch, the E2 program has reached 690 commitments, 275 of which are firm orders and 415 of which are options and purchase rights, from both airline customers and leasing companies. Currently, the E-Jets are operating with about 70 customers in 50 countries, being the global leader in the segment of aircraft with up to 130 seats, with over 50% market share.

With an investment of $1.7 billion (USD), the E2 program was launched in June 2013 and reinforces Embraer’s commitment to continuously invest in its commercial aviation products as well as maintain market leadership in the segment of 70 to 130 seats.

Aircastle orders 15 Embraer E190-E2s and 10 Embraer E195-E2s

Embraer and Aircastle Holding Corporation Limited, which is a subsidiary of Aircastle Limited, announced today at the 51st International Paris Air Show a firm order for 25 E-Jet E2s, consisting of 15 E190-E2s and 10 E195-E2s with an additional 25 purchase rights for 15 E190-E2s and 10 E195-E2s, bringing the total potential order to up to 50 aircraft. The transaction will be included in Embraer’s 2015 second-quarter backlog.

Aircastle’s deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2018 for the E190-E2 and 2019 for the E195-E2 at a rate of roughly seven units per year through 2021. The new order brings the E-Jets E2 backlog to 267 firm orders plus 373 options and purchase rights.

The first E-Jet E2 (an E190-E2) is planned to be delivered in the first semester of 2018. The E195-E2 is scheduled to enter service in 2019 and the E175-E2 in 2020. The E-Jets E2 program reinforces Embraer’s commitment to continuously invest in the company’s line of commercial jets and to maintain its leadership position in the 70 to 130-seat aircraft segment. The E2s have state-of-the-art Pratt & Whitney PurePowerTM Geared Turbofan high by-pass ratio engines (PW1700G on the E175-E2, PW1900G on the E190-E2 and E195-E2). Combined with new aerodynamically advanced wings, full fly-by-wire flight controls, and improvements to other systems, the E2s will deliver significant reductions in fuel burn, maintenance costs, emissions, and external noise.

Azul firms its order for 30 Embraer E195-E2 jets

Azul Linhas Aereas Brasileiras S.A. (Sao Paulo-Viracopos) and Embraer S.A. (São José dos Campos) have reached a final agreement for 30 firm orders for the E195-E2 jets. The contract, announced as a Letter of Intent (LOI) during the 2014 edition of the Farnborough International Airshow, in July last year, also includes an additional 20 purchase rights for the same model, bringing the total potential order up to 50 E195-E2 jets.

Currently, the Brazilian airline has a total of 82 E-Jets in service and another six E195s on order. It operates the largest fleet of E195s in the world. With this firm order from Azul, the E-Jets E2 backlog reaches 242 firm orders, plus 348 options and purchase rights.

The first delivery of an E-Jets E2 (the E190-E2) is planned for the first semester of 2018. The E195-E2 is scheduled to enter service in 2019 and the E175-E2 in 2020. Azul signs LOI for 30 Embraer E195-E2 jets

Azul Linhas Aereas Brasileiras (Azul Brazilian Airlines) (Sao Paulo-Viracopos) announced today, at the 2014 Farnborough International Airshow, that it has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Embraer S.A. for 30 firm orders for the E195-E2 jets.

Besides the firm order, the LOI includes additional 20 purchase rights for the same model, bringing the total potential order to up to 50 E195-E2 jets. The contract for the E-Jets E2 has an estimated value of
$3.1 billion, at list prices, if all purchase rights are converted to firm orders. As the first airline to order the E195-E2, Azul becomes the launch operator for this aircraft.

Azul:

Air Costa orders 50 Embraer E-Jets E2s

Air Costa (Vijayawada) has signed a definitive agreement with Embraer for a firm order for 50 E-Jets E2s with an additional 50 purchase rights. The acquisition is a mix of 25 E190-E2s and 25 E195-E2s and has an estimated value of $2.94 billion based on 2014 list prices. The purchase rights are for an additional 25 E190-E2s and 25 E195-E2s, bringing the total potential order to up to 100 aircraft and can reach $5.88 billion if all are exercised. This transaction raises the total E-Jets E2 orders to 200 firm and 200 options/purchase rights since the launch of the E2 program, in June 2013.

Air Costa has become the first customer of E-Jet E2s in the Indian market and will take delivery of the E190-E2 in 2018. The E195-E2 is scheduled to enter service in 2019. Today, the airline flies four E-Jets: two E170s and two E190s.

Air Costa is currently connecting cities in southern India such as Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Vijayawada, as well as key secondary cities in the North and Northwest of the country. The airline plans to link underserved markets with more direct flights, increasing frequencies and routes, thus serving growing metropolitan areas, as well as key secondary and tertiary business centers.

Air Costa’s E2s will feature new-design cabins with an even higher standard of comfort and more personal space. The E190-E2 will be configured with 98 seats in dual class layout, with six seats in first class, and the E195-E2 with 118 seats, with 12 seats in the first class.
