Lion Group takes delivery of the first three Airbus A320s for Batik Air

Lion Group has celebrated the delivery of its first three Airbus aircraft at a special ceremony in Toulouse today (November 12). The event was attended by Rusdi Kirana, Chairman and Co-Founder of Lion Group and Fabrice Brégier, Airbus President and CEO.

The aircraft are the first from an order placed by Lion Group in March 2013 for 234 A320 Family aircraft, comprising 109 A320neo, 65 A321neo and 60 A320ceo.

The initial batch of A320s are set to join the fleet of the Group’s full service subsidiary Batik Air (Jakarta and Manado), flying on domestic and regional services. The Batik aircraft are powered by CFM56 engines and feature a premium two class layout seating a total of 156 passengers.

Batik Air‘s (Jakarta and Manado) first Airbus A320, and the first for the Lion Group, has rolled out of the paint shop at Toulouse, France. Batik Air is a current Boeing 737NG operator. Airbus issued this short statement and photo:

The first Airbus aircraft for Indonesia’s Lion Group has rolled out of the paint shop hangar in Toulouse, France. With the airline’s colorful livery, the aircraft will be delivered in third quarter and will be operated by Lion Group’s full service unit Batik Air on its growing domestic and regional network.
The aircraft is the first from a major order placed by the Lion Group in March 2013 for a total of 234 A320 Family aircraft (109 A320neo, 65 A321neo and 60 A320ceo).

easyJet (UK) (London-Luton) will soon take delivery of this second direct new Airbus A320 (the company also operates ex-GB Airways A320s). F-WWBO (msn 3843) is the first new easyJet A320 to be built at Toulouse and will become G-AZTB.
