JOY Airline, a newly formed Argentine regional carrier founded by aviation entrepreneur Juan Maggio, has officially initiated commercial ticket sales on its official website for its inaugural scheduled domestic passenger routes set to commence on September 30, 2026. The airline was designed around a regional transport concept focused on linking provincial cities and secondary hubs rather than mass-market trunk operations. Instead of centralizing its fleet at Buenos Aires, JOY Airline established its primary operational hub and overnight base in northern Argentina at Gobernador Horacio Guzmรกn International Airport in Jujuy. While the company is working through the final administrative steps to obtain its Air Operator Certificate from Argentina’s National Civil Aviation Administration, it formally loaded its scheduled flight itineraries and fare tiers to kick off commercial reservations.
The initial schedule connects Jujuy to both Buenos Aires and Cรณrdoba, designed specifically to allow same-day business and leisure travel between the interior and the country’s major urban centers. The carrier will operate 12 weekly flights on the route between Jujuy and Aeroparque Jorge Newbery in Buenos Aires, where flight JO 4401 departs Jujuy at 7:00 AM and arrives at Aeroparque at 9:00 AM, with return flight JO 4402 departing Buenos Aires at 9:40 AM and touching down in Jujuy at 11:50 AM. One-way fares on the Aeroparque service begin at 411,551 Argentine Pesos, approximately US $272, with round trips priced around 823,102 Argentine Pesos, approximately US $544. Between Jujuy and Ingeniero Aeronรกutico Ambrosio L.V. Taravella International Airport in Cรณrdoba, JOY Airline will operate seven weekly flights, featuring flight JO 4501 departing Jujuy at 12:30 PM to land in Cรณrdoba at 1:45 PM, followed by return flight JO 4502 departing Cรณrdoba at 3:45 PM and arriving in Jujuy at 5:15 PM. Fares on the Cรณrdoba route start at 279,401 Argentine Pesos, approximately US $185, for one-way tickets and 558,802 Argentine Pesos, approximately US $369, for round trips.
To operate its domestic route network, JOY Airline selected the Bombardier CRJ200LR regional jet configured in a single-class layout of 50 seats in a two-by-two layout without middle seats. The fleet launch is supported by its first aircraft, registered as LV-JOI and named “Jujuy”, an airframe previously operated by Delta Connection partner Endeavor Air that arrived at Buenos Aires Ezeiza in July 2026 before entering repainting and preparation. Due to the overhead bin dimensions of the CRJ200 aircraft, the carrier has instituted a ramp-side valet baggage check service for carry-on luggage. The company is in the process of taking delivery of a second CRJ200LR, preparing to expand aircraft rotations as passenger operations scale across Argentina.
