Great Dane Airlines (Aalborg) filed for bankruptcy on October 11, 2021. The airline will be liquidated.
The airline announced on social media:
“Great Dane Airlines has gone bankrupt. We have struggled through time with Corona, but unfortunately we can’t fly anymore. Thank you to the many guests who have flown with us. Thanks to our partners.”
The airline commenced operations on June 14, 2019 but was heavily impacted by COVID-19 travel restrictions.
Between September 2020 and May 2021, the airline wet-leased two of its aircraft to Bamboo Airways in order to keep its aircraft and crews active.
