Ultra Air (Medellin) is poised to commence low-fare operations in Colombia, possibly in February.
The new airline was formed in 2020 by the founder of Viva Air Colombia and also the former executive of Interjet of Mexico.
The upstart received its AOC on June 25, 2021.
The company received a mega-investment rating in the country.

Vietjet on October 26, 2017 launched ticket sales for two new routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Phuket and to Chiang Mai serving the travel and trade demands between these well-known tourist destinations in Vietnam, Thailand and Hong Kong through connecting flights.
The Ho Chi Minh City – Phuket route will operate a return flight every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday from December 15, 2017 with around two hours per leg. The flight will depart Ho Chi Minh City at 10:15 and arrive in Phuket at 12:10 (local time). The return flight takes off at 13:05 (local time) in Phuket and lands in Ho Chi Minh City at 15:10.
The Ho Chi Minh City – Chiang Mai route will operate a return flight every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday from December 12, 2017 with around two hours per leg. The flight will depart Ho Chi Minh City at 11:35 and arrive in Chiang Mai at 13:30 (local time). The return flight takes off at 14:20 (local time) in Chiang Mai and lands in Ho Chi Minh City at 16:25.
With the opening of the two new routes, Vietjet now operates 6 routes to the “Land of Smiles” Thailand.
