Nigerian Eagle Airlines changes its name to Air Nigeria

Nigerian Eagle Airlines (Lagos) has changed its name to Air Nigeria.

Star Airways takes delivery of its first aircraft

Star Airways (StarAirways.al) (Tirana) is a new airline in Albania. On April 2 it took delivery of this ex-Mexicana Airbus A320-231 N415MX (msn 415) due to be re-registered as ZA-RED. The first A320 is leased from ILFC.

Air Italy adds Boeing 737-36N EI-IGS

Air Italy (2nd) (Milan-Malpensa) is adding this Boeing 737-36N registered EI-IGS (msn 28562, ex N562SM) with Blended Winglets.

Midwest Airlines (Egypt) to add its first Boeing 737-800

Copyright Photo: Trevor Mulkerrins. Ex-Axis Airways Boeing 737-86N F-GZZA (msn 28591) was rolled out at Shannon on February 3, 2010 in Midwest Airlines' (Egypt) 1999 livery. Midwest did not retain the hybrid Flyglobespan scheme seen on recent addition of Boeing 737-683 SU-MWC (msn 28303).

Midwest Airlines (Egypt) (Cairo) is planning to take delivery of its first Boeing 737-800.

Kulula’s latest logojet – “Flying 101”

Kulula (kulula.com) (Johannesburg) is certainly not your average (boring) airline. The company has a sense of humor and tries to make flying fun and colorful. The airline has had a long history of colorful logojets. The latest is this ex-Axis Airways Boeing 737-86N now registered ZS-ZWP (msn 28612, ex OK-PIK) which was rolled out at Shannon on January 18 in this all green livery. The small white inscriptions and arrows details the various parts of the aircraft and also the components of the aircraft, hence the title “flying 101”.

Azerbaijan Airlines to acquire four ex-Airberlin Airbus A320s

Azerbaijan Airlines-AZAL (Baku) is acquiring its first Airbus A320 by acquiring four ex-Airberlin A320s.

Bellview Airlines to resume operations on December 1

Bellview Airlines (Lagos) will restore the Lagos-London (Heathrow) route with this newly-acquired (first) Boeing 767-300.

Camair paints its first aircraft

Camair co-Cameroon Airlines Corporation (Douala), the flag carrier replacement for defunct Cameroon Airlines, has painted its first aircraft, a former Cameroon Airlines aircraft.

The airliner was later routed from Shannon to Palma de Mallorca and then Lagos on September 17, having arrived in SNN in the old Virgin Nigeria colors on September 11.
