Petra Airlines (Amman) is a new charter airline based in Jordan. It is named after the famous historic site in the country. The new airline is a member of the Rum Group for Transportation and Tourism Investment PSC. The company took delivery of the first of two A320 aircraft (A320-212 JY-PTA, msn 459) on October 7 in Amman. Riad Khashman, the Chairman and CEO of Rum Group and Petra Airlines, said that the delivery of Petra’s first A320 constitutes the beginning of the company’s operations, which fulfilled the requirements of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) as a commercial air carrier.
The company is expecting to take delivery of the second A320 later this month.
Petra Airlines entered into maintenance agreements with Jordan Aircraft Maintenance Limited (JorAMCo) and Airbus International, by which Petra Airlines will receive logistical and technical support for its aircraft.
Victoria Falls Airways (Vicfalls Airways) (Harare), the new private airline in Zimbabwe, is planning to acquire ex-AeroSur Boeing 767-260 ER CP-2521 (msn 23107) according to this report in allAfrica.com.
World Atlantic Airlines (Miami) on September 10 started its FAA proving flights, hopefully leading to its AOC and Part 121 certification. The new charter airline plans to operate for federal agencies.

Dynamic Aviation (Bridgewater Airpark, VA) has established Dynamic Airways as a new charter airline. The new airline is planning to start FAA proving flights as it prepares to obtain its AOC.

Sideral Air Cargo is a new cargo airline in Brazil. On August 31 the new company took delivery of its first freighter. Boeing 737-3S3 (SF) PR-SDL (msn 24060, ex N312AW) was converted by AEI-Aeronautical Engineers. Further details are welcome.
Tibet Airlines (Lhasa) is a new airline that has ordered three Airbus A319s. The new carrier was approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) in March 2010and intends to start operations in 2011.
Nile Air (Cairo) has finally commenced operations this month with two Airbus A320s. The new airline received its AOC on November 1, 2009 but did not start until this month.
