Sun d’Or launches flights from Tel Avi to Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt

Sun d’Or (subsidiary of El Al) on Sunday, April 17, launched its first flights from Tel Avi to Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt.

The two governments agreed in mid-March to launch the route.

Sun d’Or was incorporated on October 1, 1977 as an El Al subsidiary, called “El Al Charter Services Ltd.”

Four years later the name was changed to “Sun d’Or International Airlines Ltd.”. The name combines the English word “sun” with the French “d’or” or gold – thus, Golden Sun.

Sun d’Or International Airlines to be shut down on April 1

Sun d”Or International Airlines (Tel Aviv) will be shut down on April 1 when its AOC is suspended.
