AVIACSA (Monterrey) was grounded late on June 2 by the Mexican government after officials said that the airline had maintenance “irregularities”. The airline is appealing this ruling citing, among other things, reports from the FAA and third party inspectors which have deemed the airline to be safe. The airline has 60 days to resolve all issues but with its traffic down due to the Swine Flu it may not be able to come back from this setback.
