Air Fiji may not be revived

Air Fiji (2nd) (Suva) remains grounded since it shut down all operations in late April 2009. The company needs $3 million in new capital in order to resume operations. Its aircraft are for sale or lease. The company was originally formed as Air Pacific (1st) in June 1967 with operations commencing on July 10, 1967. The airline was renamed Fiji Air (2nd) on March 29, 1971 when the original Fiji Air (1st) and Air Pacific (1st) decided to swap airline names.
