Atlas Air drops a fiberglass wing fairing into Dillards parking lot in Miami

Atlas Air (New York-JFK) confirmed one of its Boeing 747 freighters lost a fiberglass wing fairing (“canoe”) yesterday on final approach to runway 9 at Miami International Airport. The large part fell into Dillards parking lot missing any cars or pedestrians. The flight was en route from Santiago to MIA.
