AirTran Airways (Orlando and Atlanta) announced plans to begin service in Tunica, Miss., effective May 6, 2010. This will be the first scheduled air service from a major airline to the entertainment and gaming destination.

The low-cost carrier will offer roundtrip, nonstop flights on Boeing 717 aircraft between Tunica Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
