Azul Linhas Aereas Brasileiras (Sao Paulo) and Embraer joined with the FEMAMA organization for a campaign to prevent breast cancer. The goal is to raise awareness about the importance of early diagnosis to increase the chances of cure.

To symbolize this initiative, one Azul Embraer ERJ 195 jet (PR-AYO, msn 19000391) has been painted pink, a color that symbolizes the worldwide fight against breast cancer. The jet is operated by a crew composed entirely of women, which they use also in pink uniforms. The campaign launch coincides with the October Rose, global movement to mobilize against breast cancer.

The plane in the colors of the campaign for prevention of breast cancer was delivered on October 7, 2010 at Sao Jose dos Campos, a city soon to be another destination for Azul. The new jet is the 23rd ERJ in the Azul fleet.

Azul commenced operations on December 15, 2008, initially connecting Sao Paulo (Campinas) with Porto Alegre and Salvador. Today, the airline flies to 24 destinations: Sao Paulo (Campinas), Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Maringá, Navegantes, Florianopolis, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Campo Grande, Vitória, Salvador, Recife, Maceió, Fortaleza, Natal, Manaus, Goiânia, Porto Seguro, São Paulo, Cuiabá, Brasília, São Luís, Teresina and Aracaju. Three new destinations will be added: Sao Jose dos Campos, Bethlehem and Joinville. Azul operates a fleet of 10 ERJ 190s and 12 ERJ 195s.
