Boeing (Chicago, Seattle, Wichita and Charleston) is expected to announce soon another delay in the 787 Dreamliner program. How long will the delays last? Will customer airlines continue to cancel orders?
Boeing bet the company that this ground breaking project could be outsourced in many aspects to reduce costs. It appears to be doing the opposite. That outsourcing decision may be coming back now to haunt company officials as this article by the Seattle Times details. Can Boeing survive the 787 delays? We hope so.
