Delta Air Lines (Atlanta) retired the last McDonnell Douglas DC-9-41 on January 2 and thus also retired the Northwest Airlines brand.

It is truly a sad day to see the NWA brand fade into nonexistance. I have flown with them for more than thirty years and appreciated their professionalism and good service.
