QANTAS Airways to resume A380 services to Los Angeles on January 16, also coming to DFW, dropping SFO

QANTAS Airways (Sydney) is resuming Airbus A380 services from Melbourne to Los Angeles on January 16.

In other news, QANTAS announced it will launch direct services from Sydney to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) from May 16, 2011.

The route will see QF operate direct outbound flights from Sydney to DFW (as QF 7), returning to Sydney via Brisbane (as QF 8). DFW is the primary hub of QF’s fellow oneworld™ alliance member, American Airlines, and the two carriers will soon seek to expand their commercial relationship.

QF will offer four return flights to DFW each week, featuring a three-class Boeing 747-400 aircraft. The historic Sydney-San Francisco (SFO) route will be discontinued on May 14, 2011, but SFO will remain part of the QF network as a codeshare destination.
