Horizon Air to retire its 13 CRJ700s by mid-year, SkyWest to operate 5 CRJ700s for Alaska Airlines

Horizon Air (Alaska Horizon) (Seattle/Tacoma) will retire its 13 remaining Bombardier CRJ700s and become an all Q400 operator by mid-year.

In addition, parent Alaska Airlines is entering into a capacity purchase agreement with SkyWest, Inc. (St. George) to operate five of the aircraft between California and the Seattle/Tacoma hub being vacated by Horizon. This was confirmed by executives of the Alaska Airlines Group during an analyst conference call.
