United inadvertently revives the 9-11 flight numbers by mistake

United Airlines Boeing 757-222 N522UA (msn 24931) BWI (Tony Storck) (UA aircraft, repainted), originally uploaded by Airliners Gallery.

United Airlines (Chicago) temporarily revived the flight numbers of two hijacked planes used in the September 11 attacks according to this report by Reuters.

United acknowledged the mistake and stated the mistake would be corrected.

Flight numbers 93 and 175 were incorrectly assigned to two flights operated by merger partner Continental Airlines.
