Thai Smile is born in Thailand

Thai Airways International (Bangkok) has selected the name “Thai Smile” as the new “light premium” subsidiary according to the Bangkok Post. The new division will launch operations in July 2012 and will operate 11 Airbus A320s. Thai Smile will not compete in the low-fare segment that the new Thai Tiger Airways (Bangkok) joint venture will go after. Thai also retains a minority share in low-fare Nok Air (Bangkok).
