Will Iberia and the IAG move ahead with a new European LCC?

Iberia (Madrid) is planning to create a new low-cost carrier (LCC) subsidiary. The company is planning to assign 38 Airbus A320s to the new operation if approved by the IAG board.

Iberia’s board met yesterday to consider this option for its European short and medium-haul flights, according to El Pais and this WSJ report.

The board of International Consolidated Airlines Group (IAG) will make the final decision.
