Spirit Airlines’ flight attendants authorize a strike if negotiations fail

Spirit Airlines’ (Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood) flight attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), authorized a strike should management fail to reach an agreement with flight attendants. 98.4 percent of Spirit’s flight attendants voted to authorize a strike, if necessary. Negotiations continue.

Meanwhile the company is expected to announce soon a new round of new routes with new aircraft arrivals in time for the winter season.

The company recently reported its revenue passenger miles rose to 575.5 million during September 2011, up 9.8 percent compared to the same month in 2010.
