Singapore Airlines (Singapore) today (November 1) confirmed the new low-fare “Scoot” subsidiary will begin operations in June 2012. Four Boeing 777-200s will be flying by the end of 2012.
Scoot will focus on destinations that are five to 10 hours from Singapore and will offer two classes of service, with economy tickets up to 40 percent less than full-service carriers. Customers will be able to choose their seats, meals and baggage options.
