Kingfisher Airlines asks for help from the Indian government

Kingfisher Airlines (Bangalore and Mumbai) has informed Indian aviation minister Ajit Singh that it will not be able to maintain its scheduled operations without a temporary bank overdraft, the Financial Express newspaper reported and this report by The International Business Times.

The struggling carrier needs help to pay its creditors to avoid having its leased aircraft seized according to chairman Vijay Mallya.

Several aircraft lessors have gone to court in the UK in order to seize the aircraft due to its unpaid bills.
