Hong Kong Airlines wins rights to fly to Taiwan, confirms starting dates

Hong Kong Airlines (Hong Kong) announced on December 30, 2011 that the company had received allocation of traffic rights between Hong Kong and Taiwan by Transport and Housing Bureau of the HKSAR Government. In accordance with the provisions of the Air Services Arrangement.

Hong Kong Airlines can operate passenger and all-cargo services to Taipei and Kaohsiung with immediate effect. Hong Kong Airlines will launch four daily passenger flights and all-cargo services with 650 tonnes per week on Taipei or Kaohsiung routes, starting to operate in the first quarter of 2012.

The airline has now confirmed it will start daily flights from Hong Kong to Taipei (Taoyuan) (with Airbus A330-200s) and Hong Kong-Kaohsiung (six flights a week with Boeing 737-800s) on March 1.

In addition the Chinese carrier is launching daily Hong Kong-Nanjing (China) service also on March 1.
