
Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras (Sao Paulo) has converted ten options, into firm orders for Embraer ERJ 195s, which will be used on its routes, beginning in 2015. The agreement raises the total number of airplanes under contract to 62 (57 E195s and five E190s), 33 of which are already in operation, together with another five E190s bought by Azul from other companies.
After three years of operations, Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras now connects 44 destinations, in 43 cities, with more than 350 daily flights. Actually, the company connects a total of 48 Brazilian cities, when its eight bus routes are added to the mix. Azul has already carried 15 million passengers, since it was founded. It currently operates a fleet of 38 Embraer E190 and E195 jets, as well as nine ATR 72 turboprops.
