WestJet becomes a new partner of the Toronto Blue Jays, sets a new record

WestJet Airlines (Calgary) has announced they have signed deal making the airline an official partner of the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball. The announcement, which comes in anticipation of the season opener, marks the airline’s first major team sponsorship.

With JetBlue and Virgin America introducing the first two MLB logojets this season, is there a Toronto Blue jays logojet coming to celebrate this new partnership? WestJet has never had a sports team logojet.

In other news, WestJet announced it was due to fly 54,254 guests yesterday (April 5), setting a new single-day record for the airline. The previous record, set on February 26, 2012, saw 52,992 guests fly across the airline’s network.

The new single-day record comes as Canadians enjoy an extended weekend in celebration of Easter.
