Allegiant Air (Las Vegas) yesterday (June 18) was forced to cancel six flights at St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) following a previous emergency landing which removed an aircraft form the available pool. According to this report by Channel 10 News, the airline admitted they did not have enough aircraft yesterday in service to handle its 283 flight schedule across its system.
The carrier is offering a $200 voucher for future travel.
Meanwhile the pilots have been threatening to strike and the carrier has gone to court to prevent any walkouts.

iI was the victim with others, a fews years ago of a Wendover Casino charter on Allegiant Air out of Calgary (YYC) that was cancelled a full six hours plus AFTER the original departure time. Their handling agent was not supplied with the cancellation notice until we were at the gate for the new departure time. We had all cleared U.S. Customs and Immigration and security and were at the gate watching for the aircraft when the handling finally got the word that the aircraft hadn’t even left it’s U.S. departure point. We were simply told the flight was cancelled, go get our bags and CALL the Wendover Casino company.
