Delta Air Lines will cut capacity by 40 percent as demand plummets. CEO Ed Bastian informed the Delta employees of the decisions to preserve cash.
The airline also announced it will suspend all flights to continental Europe for the next 30 days and ground up to 300 aircraft. Service to London will be maintained.
New aircraft deliveries will be deferred.
This drop in passenger demand is larger than the 9/11 attacks.
