Jet2 announces three new destinations from Glasgow

Jet2 (Jet2.com) (Leeds/Bradford) is adding three new destinations from Glasgow for the next summer season. The three new destinations will include Murcia (Spain), which will take off every Monday and Friday from May 24, 2013. Flights to the Eastern Med’s Croatian resort, Pula, will start on June 18, 2013. Finally, the airline will operate weekly flights to Menorca starting on May 25, 2013. Jet2 will fly to 19 destinations from Glasgow in the summer of 2013.

Jet2 (Jet2.com) (Leeds/Bradford) is planning to add its 45th destination from its Leeds/Bradford base. The LBA-Pula (Croatia) route will be operating once a week on Sundays starting on May 26, 2013.

Jet2 acquires the former Boeing 757-2K2 HC-CIY of AeroGal

Jet2 (Jet2.com) (Leeds/Bradford) is acquiring this former Boeing 757-200 of AeroGal (Aerolineas Galapagos) (Quito). The pictured 757-2K2 HC-CIY (msn 26635) is seen arriving at Southend (near London) on May 6 for preparations to become G-LSAN with Jet2.

The aircraft has been in storage as AeroGal replaced the Boeing 757s with Airbus A319s and A320s.

Jet2 to operate twice-weekly flights from Manchester to Grenoble, France this ski season

Jet2 (Jet2.com) (Leeds/Bradford) will operate twice-weekly flights from Manchester to Grenoble, the noted ski resort area of France from December 16, 2012 through April 14, 2013.

Jet2 (Jet2.com) (Leeds/Bradford) will launch a new twice-weekly route on March 26, 2012 linking the Leeds/Bradford base with Budapest. The new route will be operated with Boeing 737s.

Jet2 adds four new destinations from Newcastle

Jet2 (Jet2.com) (Leeds/Bradford) yesterday (December 6) announced a series of major investments in the North East, demonstrating its commitment to Newcastle Airport and surrounding areas and ultimately positioning the airline to be the city’s most high profile over the coming year.

Jet2 announced the launch of four new routes from Newcastle to Bodrum (June 4), Rome (May 31), Reus (June 1) and Venice (May 31). This brings the total number of destinations served by Jet2 at Newcastle to 27.

An additional aircraft will be based at NCL for the summer 2012 season, taking the total to six based aircraft.

Jet2 launches New York shopping charter flights

Jet2 (Jet2.com) (Leeds/Bradford) and Jet2holidays yesterday (December 1) celebrated the take off of the year’s first flight to New York from Leeds-Bradford International Airport and Newcastle Airport.

Customers checking in for the two special direct Christmas shopping flights to New York were treated to an American-style send off with the check in area decked out on an American theme. Staff dressed up as Uncle Sam, diner waitresses and the Statue of Liberty and treated customers the red carpet treatment with famous New York songs playing and New York snacks including muffins and brownies.

The second and final New York shopping trips will leave on Thursday December 8.

Jet2 (Jet2.com) (Leeds/Bradford) will launch the Leeds/Bradford-Berlin (Brandenburg) route on June 1, 2012. The new route will be operated with Boeing 737s, three times week, according to Airline Route.
