Lynx Air unveils crew uniforms as it readies for takeoff

Lynx Air,ย Canada’s new ultra-affordable airline, takes to the skies in just two weeks and the airline is providing a sneak preview of its crew uniforms. The uniforms will feature the signature red and white color scheme of the airline’s bold but friendly brand.ย  The distinctive Lynx paw print makes a cameo appearance in sky blue, roaming across a snow-white neck scarf.

To celebrate the upcoming launch, the airline is announcing a competition to win a weekend away fromย Vancouverย toย Calgary,ย Toronto, or Kelowna.ย  ย Each weekend getaway package includes two return Lynx flights, flying on the airline’s brand-new Boeing 737 aircraft, and a two-night hotel stay at one of the three destinations. Lynx will be flying coast to coast acrossย Canada, fromย Victoriaย toย St. John’s, and eight other destinations in between:

Vancouver,ย Kelowna,ย Edmonton,ย Calgary,ย Winnipeg,ย Toronto,ย Hamilton, andย Halifax. One-way airfares start atย $39*. The airline’s first flight will take off fromย Calgaryย toย Vancouverย and back onย April 7ย and the network will ramp up quickly from there (see table below). Lynx is on a mission to make air travel accessible to all, with low fares and great customer service.ย  The airline will launch with a fleet of three brand-new Boeing 737 aircraft, which will expand to a total of 46 aircraft over the next seven years.

Lynx Air announces a major expansion from the Toronto area

Lynx Air, Canada’s new ultra-affordable airline, has today announced a major expansion out of the Toronto region, adding four new destinations and five new routes to its network, as it continues its mission to make air travel affordable for all. Canadians living in the Toronto region will have access to Lynx flights out of both Toronto Pearson Airport (Toronto Pearson) and John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport (Hamilton Airport), with six (6) destinations across the country to choose from: Halifax, St. John’s, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmontonand Vancouver.

To celebrate this significant commitment by Lynx to the Toronto region, the airline has launched a competition to win a free weekend getaway from Toronto to Halifax, Calgary, Edmonton or Vancouver. Each weekend getaway package includes two return Lynx flights, flying on the airline’s brand-new Boeing 737 aircraft, and a two-night hotel stay at one of the four destinations.

Today’s announcement includes the following new Lynx routes:

  • Toronto Pearson – Halifax: Three flights per week, commencing June 30, 2022, and increasing to five per week from July 30, 2022.
  • Toronto Pearson – St. John’s: Two flights per week, commencing June 28, 2022, and increasing to seven flights per week from July 28, 2022.
  • Toronto Pearson – Edmonton: Seven flights per week, commencing July 28, 2022.
  • HamiltonCalgary: Two flights per week, commencing June 29, 2022, and increasing to four flights per week from July 29, 2022.
  • Hamilton โ€“ Halifax: Two flights per week, commencing June 29, 2022.

Lynx will also be increasing its frequencies between Toronto Pearson and Calgary from seven flights per week to twelve flights per week from June 28, 2022.

Lynx Air selects TCI Cabin Interior for its cabin design

Lynx Air (Lynx), Canadaโ€™s newest ultra-affordable airline, has entered an agreement with TCI Cabin Interior (TCI) for the design and manufacturing of its cabin interior products. The airline, headquartered in Calgary, AB, will use the Galleys and Monuments produced by TCI in its fleet of 40 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.

TCI offers the best solutions in weight, quality, price and performance. Lynx choosing TCI is an indicator of the success of TCIโ€™s design philosophy applied in its products.ย 

TCI, founded in 2010, is the joint venture of TA, Turkish Airlines and Turkish Technic. In line with Turkeyโ€™s aviation goals and 2023 vision, it has been gaining ground in engineering, quality and certification since its foundation and completed its first Boeing and Airbus program deliveries in 2014. By the end of 2015, TCI was listed in Boeingโ€™s Global Offerable list. Along with the projects conducted with Boeing, Airbus, and Stelia, TCI became the global supplier of many airlines and leasing companies such as Turkish Airlines, SunExpress, Jet Airways, SpiceJet, Azerbaijan Airlines, Donghai Airlines, and Anadolu Jet.

TCI operates in the MRO Center at Sabiha Gรถkรงen International Airport with more than 160 employees. TCI has been increasing its expertise in the design, testing, certification and manufacturing of aircraft cabin interior products such as Galleys, Monuments, Lavatories, Overhead Bins and Windscreens. It aims to increase its product range in the near future with other industrial products like Cargo Containers, Cargo Pallets and Trolleys, while continuing to export significantly with its domestic subcontractors in the aviation industry.

BOC Aviation purchases 11 Boeing 737-8 MAX 8 aircraft for leases to Lynx Air

BOC Aviation Limited has announced it has agreed to purchase 11 new Boeing 737-8 MAX 8 aircraft from The Boeing Company.

The aircraft will be leased to Lynx Air on long term leases.

They will be powered by CFM LEAP-1B engines and are scheduled for delivery in 2023 and 2024.

Lynx Air to commence operations on May 5

Lynx Air (Calgary) has announced it will commence operations on May 5, 2022.

The first route will connect Toronto (Pearson) with Winnipeg.

The second route will be launched from the Calgary base to Victoria on May 12, 2022.

Lynx Air takes delivery of its first Boeing 737-8 MAX 8

Lynx Air has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737-8 MAX 8 (C-GJSL).

The new airline made this announcement on social media:

The first Boeing 737-8 is painted for Lynx Air

Lynx Air’s first painted Boeing 737-8 MAX 8 (C-GJSL) has come out of the paint shop at Boeing pending delivery.

Lynx Air was launched on November 16, 2021, with plans to begin flying low-fare flights in the first quarter of 2022.

The airline has commitments for up to 46 Boeing 737-8 MAX 8s, with deliveries starting in February 2022.

Lynx Air to start flying in April, begins selling seats

Lynx Airlines will commence scheduled operations in April in Canada. One-way fares between Calgary and Toronto for example will start at $69 (Can).
