Wow Air announces its plans for this winter

Wow Air (Keflavik) according to the new airline, “has announced increased competition in the marketplace, one of the main goals is to make flights to and from Iceland cheaper than ever.”

The airline flew to 13 destinations in Europe this summer; Copenhagen, London, Paris, Lyon, Alicante, Zurich, Basel, Stuttgart, Cologne, Berlin, Kaunas, Warsaw and Krakow.

This winter Wow Air will fly to Iceland from Berlin, London, and Alicante. Around Christmas the airline will offer flights to Copenhagen, Warsaw and Kaunas and over the ski season from December until March Wow Air offer ski flights to Salzburg.

Wow Air fleet consists of two Airbus A320s named WOW Force One and WOW Force Two.ย The aircraft are comfortably set up with 30-32 inch leg space and are wet leased from Avion Express.

Wow Air leases two Airbus A320s from Avion Express to launch operations in June

Wow Air (WOW Force One) (Kefavik) is leasing two Airbus A320s from Avion Express in order to commence low-fare operations starting in June. The first A320 has been painted.

Wow Air to start operations from Iceland on June 1, 2012

Wow Air (Reykjavik) is a new airline in Iceland which is planning to operate Airbus A320s to European destinations. The planned destinations from Keflavik include Alicante, Basel/Mulhouse, Berlin (Brandenburg), Cologne/Bonn, Copenhagen, Krakow, London (Stansted), Lyon, Paris (CDG), Stuttgart, Warsaw and Zurich.

The planned start-up date is June 1, 2012.

According to the website, “Majority holder of WOW air is the investment company Titan, owned by Skรบli Mogensen. Other shareholders are Baldur Baldursson and Matthรญas Imsland. Baldur Baldursson is the company’s CEO.

Directors of the Board are Skรบli Mogensen, Baldur Baldursson, David Mรกsson Director and Partner Avion Capital Partners SA and Bjรถrn Ingi Knรบtsson former Airport Director of Keflavik Airport & Alternate representative for the Nordic Countries at ICAO in Montreal, Canada.

Skรบli Mogensen is also Chairman of the Board of WOW air.”
