LOT Polish Airlines will soon take delivery of its new Boeing 737-8 MAX 8 SP-LVD (msn 64069). The pictured SP-LVD is now painted in a special “100 Years of Polish Independence” livery. As previously reported, the aircraft mirrors a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner (SP-LSC) (below) also painted in the same special livery. There are both English and Polish sides.
They airline made this announcement on social media:
We are celebrating the 100th anniversary of Poland’s independence. Two of our most modern aircraft, Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and Boeing 737 MAX 8, have been given a unique red-and-white livery. This is how SP-LSC, Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner presents itself.
According to the Polish Cultural Institute:
“A hundred years ago Poland regained independence. In 1918, World War I was over and our country was free at last after 123 years of geo-political oblivion. In 2018, we are proud to join the Polish Government and Polish people around the world in commemorating the 100th anniversary of Poland becoming an independent European country.”
Poland regained its sovereignty on November 11, 1918.
