Alaska Airlines to offer Seattle/Tacoma-Salt Lake City service starting on April 4

Alaska Airlines (Seattle/Tacoma) today announced new twice-daily service between Seattle/Tacoma and Salt Lake City. Year-round flights to the “Crossroads of the West” are scheduled to begin April 4, 2013.

Alaska will offerย two daily nonstop flights with seamless connections to many destinations through Salt Lake City with partner Delta Air Lines.

Alaska Airlines starts nonstop San Diego-Orlando service

Alaska Airlines today (October 12) launched nonstop service between Orlando, Florida., and San Diego (San Diego-Orlando service started last night). The carrier will fly between the two cities five times a week.

Alaska Airlines launches nonstop Seattle/Tacoma-San Antonio flights today

Alaska Airlines (Seattle/Tacoma) is launching daily nonstop flights between Seattle/Tacoma and San Antonio, Texas, today (September 17).

Alaska Airlines started service to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in 2005 and to Austin and Houston in 2009. The dominant carrier along the West Coast, Alaska Airlines now serves 16 destinations east of the Rocky Mountains.

Alaska Airlines (Seattle/Tacoma) today (July 17) switches from Miami to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood for its nonstop Seattle/Tacoma service to and from South Florida.

Alaska Airlines to add seasonal Bellingham-Maui flights on November 8

Alaska Airlines (Seattle/Tacoma) on November 8 willย launch new seasonal service between Bellingham, Washington (between Vancouver and Seattle), and Kahului, Maui, Hawaii with four weekly flights. The new route will operate with Boeing 737-800s.

Alaska starts season flights between Anchorage and Kona, Hawaii, reaches a tentative agreement with the IAMAW

Alaska Airlines (Seattle/Tacoma) will start nonstop seasonal service to Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii on November 10 and ends on April 7, 2013. The new service complements the airline’s year-round daily service to Honolulu and seasonal service to Maui which begins on November 4 and ends on April 14, 2013.

In other news,ย Alaska Airlinesย and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers(IAMAW) jointly announced they have reached tentative agreement on a new six-year contract covering the carrier’s 587 ramp service and stores agents. The agreement includes wage increases of 10 percent over the life of the contract, long-term incentive bonuses, and job security and improved productivity provisions.

Negotiations between the airline and union began in February and culminated in agreement on a proposed contract two months before the current pact becomes amendable. Ratification vote results are expected by August 1, 2012. If approved, the new contract would become amendable in July 2018.
