Spantax (Gran Canaria) was a long-time Convair 990 operator. The airline failed on March 29, 1988. One of its Convair 990s, namely 990-30A-5 EC-BZO (msn 30-10-30), has been in open storage at Palma de Mallorca for the past 22 years. Its condition is now getting poor. A group has been formed to attempt to restore the jetliner and put it in on static display. For further information please join the Facebook group located at:
