Boeing (Chicago) and Avolon (Dublin) yesterday (June 8) celebrated the first direct-order airplane delivery to the leasing company. Avolon took delivery of the first of 12 Next-Generation 737-800s ordered in December 2009.
Boeing 737-846 JA345J (msn 40947) will be operated by Avolon’s airline customer, Japan Airlines (JAL) (Tokyo).
Avolon has 11 more Next-Generation 737-800s remaining on order.
Avolon (Dublin) announced an order for 12 Boeing Next-Generation 737-800 jetliners.
AerCap Holdings N.V. (The Netherlands) announced it has signed an agreement with aircraft leasing company Avolon (Dublin) for the sale of six Airbus A320s. Four of the aircraft are new (2010 manufactured) and are part of the AerVenture portfolio, a joint venture between AerCap andย Abu Dhabi’s investment holding company Waha Capital. The other two aircraft are owned by AerCap and were manufactured in 2008. All aircraft have been sold with leases attached.
In addition to the A320 sale, AerCap has established a joint venture with Avolon which owns three of AerCap’s A330-200 aircraft on long-term leases with Aeroflot. AerCap and Avolon will each contribute 50% of the equity required for this joint venture. AerCap will continue to manage the aircraft and the related leases.
