Turkish Airlines celebrates 88 Years in the sky and 40 years in the UAE

Turkish Airlines, flying to more countries than any other airline, celebrates its 40th year anniversary of flying to the UAE in synergy with the UAE’s Golden Jubilee celebrations. The airline, established in 1933 with a fleet of five aircrafts launched its first Middle East flight to Beirut and Cairo in 1951 and the first TK flight landed in Abu Dhabi on January 7, 1981 with the route relaunching again on January 25, 2006. 

The first flight to Dubai was operated on November 5, 1983, while the Sharjah route was launched on April 11, 2019 with daily flights.

In addition ; Anadolujet operated its first UAE flight on December 20, 2020 by operating daily flights.

Currently Turkish Airlines operates 28 weekly flights to UAE (21 weekly flights between Istanbul Airport and Dubai Airport, 3 weekly flights between Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport and Dubai Airport and 4 weekly flights between Istanbul Airport and Abu Dhabi Airport.

Avelo Airlines to launch nonstop service between Santa Rosa and Las Vegas

Avelo Airlines is adjusting its route map.

As previously reported (now confirmed by the airline), Avelo will drop Grand Junction on August 16 and Bozeman on September 15.

Avelo will redeploy the aircraft. The airline is expanding its Bay Area service with the addition of the only direct flights between Sonoma County and Las Vegas.

Starting on September 16, Avelo will fly nonstop between Charles M. Schulz — Sonoma County Airport (STS) and McCarran International Airport (LAS).

With the addition of LAS to its network, Avelo will now fly to two destinations from STS: Las Vegas and Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR).

Operating on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, flight XP127 departs STS at 10:05 a.m., arriving LAS at 11:45 a.m. Flight XP128 departs LAS at 12:25 p.m., arriving STS at 2:05 p.m.

Meanwhile service on the East Coast from New Haven, CT has been delayed due to terminal construction at HVN.

Flybondi renews its relationship with Superliga Argentina (SAF)

Flybondi has announced a renewal of their alliance with “Superliga Argentina de Futbol SAF”.

SAF is the organization who manages the Argentina’s league of football soccer. Through this agreement, the airline will facilitate the transport of football teams between the different provinces of country.

Currently the Superliga (A series) is in the match week number 3 and it’s will extend until March 2020.

AnadoluJet expands its international flight network to Erbil, Iraq

Named "Igdir"

AnadoluJet (Turkish Airlines) added a new international destination to its flight network with the addition of new flights to Erbil (Iraq).

AnadoluJet has started operating from Gaziantep and Diyarbakır to Erbil. The flights from both of these two cities started on March 21, 2019 (below).

Beginning on March 21, 2019, AnadoluJet’s Gaziantep – Erbil – Gaziantep and Diyarbakır – Erbil – Diyarbakır flights will be flown three days in a week.

AnadoluJet operates on 69 routes with 36 aircraft to 41 airports to meet the air transportation need of Anatolia more economically. AnadoluJet is a Turkish Airlines brand.

In other news, Turkish Airlines will end all scheduled flights at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul on April 6, 2019 at 02:00 as it moves to the new Istanbul Airport.

Turkish Airlines launches Istanbul – Rovaniemi, Finland flights

Turkish Airlines on December 5, 2018 added a new route from Istanbul (IST) to Rovaniemi, Finland (RVN). This is the first route to Lapland from Turkey.

The new route will operate three days a week.

Sun Country to add two new routes from Dallas/Fort Worth

Sun Country Airlines on February 6, 2019 will add two new twice-weekly routes (Palm Springs and Phoenix) from Dallas/Fort Worth.

Turkish Airlines is now flying Bodrum-London flights

Turkish Airlines has announced it is flying between Bodrum, and London.

Bodrum-London flights, which started on June 13, 2018, is operated two times a week, as on Wednesdays and Saturdays during this summer season. 

Turkish Airlines, who made its first flight to the United Kingdom with its London flights on September 9, 1961, now operates totally 90 flights per week to the United Kingdom including London, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh.
