EVA Air operates its last Boeing 747 flight

Type Retired: June 4, 2019 (BR 619 LAX - TPE with B-16407) (last 747 flight)

EVA Air on June 4, 2019 ended its relationship with the Boeing 747. The pictured Boeing 747 B-16407 (msn 27899) operated cargo flight BR 619 from Los Angeles to Taipei.

Previously the airline retired its last passenger Boeing 747-400 on August 21, 2017.

The airline took delivery of its first Boeing 747-400 in November 1992. The Jumbo was introduced on December 12, 1992 between Taipei and Los Angeles.

The 747 freighters were replaced with newer Boeing 777F freighters.

EVA Air to retire its last Boeing 747-400F freighter in June

EVA Air Cargo is planning to operate its last scheduled Boeing 747-400 cargo flight in June.

According to Airline Route, the last two flights are currently scheduled for June 2 between both Los Angeles and Bangkok and the Taipei (Taoyuan) base.

The airline operated the Boeing 747-400 passenger flight on August 21, 2017 between Hong Kong and Taipei.

Atlas Air to operate a Boeing 747-400F for SF Express

Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. has announced that its Atlas Air, Inc. unit has entered into an aircraft transportation services agreement to operate a Boeing 747-400 Freighter for SF Express, China’s leading express service provider, to enhance operating capability between China and the United States.

Atlas Air will operate the aircraft on behalf of SF Express on key global routes across the fast-growing transpacific market, connecting China with the United States. The aircraft is an incremental unit in Atlas Air’s fleet in response to customer demand and will enter into service in October 2018.
