Hong Kong Airlines takes delivery of its first Airbus A320 with Sharklets

Hong Kong Airlines (Hong Kong) took delivery on March 24 of a new Airbus A320 that is the first Airbus aircraft to feature Sharklets. The airline’s sixth A320 (A320-214 B-LPL, msn 6003) arrived at the Hong Kong International Airport base at 10 am today (March 26) and will commence service by tomorrow (March 27).

The new all-economy class A320 is configured with 174 seats and will enhance the Airlines’ overall capacity by lifting the fleet size to 23 aircraft. It is also the Airlines’ first 320 aircraft with sharklet wingtip device, which is designed by the manufacturer to enhance fuel saving and improve flight performance.

Hong Kong Airlines, as previously reported, just launched service to Ho Chi Minh City and boosted flight frequency on the Hangzhou and Okinawa routes to three and two flights a day respectively. Two new routes, to Kagoshima and Tianjin, will be inaugurated by the end of March.

Hong Kong Airlines lands in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Hong Kong Airlines‘ (Hong Kong) reported its Ho Chi Minh City inaugural flight touched down in the Vietnamese city at 13:55 (1:55 pm) local time today (March 17). The passengers and flight crew received a warm welcome from the Airlines’ representatives upon their arrival.

Hong Kong Airlines Hong Kong – Ho Chi Minh route is operated by Airbus A320 aircraft configured with all-economy class. The flight operates every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The new flight service to Ho Chi Minh City is complimented by Hong Kong Airlines’ daily flight to Hanoi, bringing it to a total of 10 weekly flights between Hong Kong and Vietnam.
