Eastern to expand further in 2021, announces starting dates

Eastern Airlines (3rd) is expanding again in 2021. The expanding airline has announced new international routes and inaugural dates.

NEW ROUTES: We’re adding more routes to connect you to the ones you love across the U.S., Latin America, and the Caribbean, including some of the only nonstop flights available between cities like Miami and Asunción, Paraguay.

New routes include:

  • Philadelphia <-> Mexico City, Mexico        Starts March 28
  • Boston <-> Belo Horizonte, Brazil                Starts March 28
  • New York <-> Belo Horizonte, Brazil           Starts March 30
  • Miami <-> Belo Horizonte, Brazil                 Starts March 29
  • New York <-> Anchorage, Alaska, USA      Starts May 28
  • Los Angeles <-> Guayaquil, Ecuador           Starts January 29
  • Miami  <-> Quito, Ecuador                            Starts March 28
  • New York <-> Quito, Ecuador                       Starts March 28

Eastern Airlines to launch flights from Philadelphia and Boston to Santo Domingo

Airline Color Scheme - Introduced 2020

Eastern Airlines (3rd) will launch twice-weekly Boeing 767 service from Philadelphia to Santo Domingo on December 15, 2020.

The carrier will also commence twice-weekly service from Boston to Santo Domingo on December 17.

Finally the carrier will start twice-weekly Miami – Santo Domingo service on December 21, 2020.

Eastern Airlines wants to expand to Argentina and Bolivia

Eastern Airlines (3rd) has applied to the US Department of Transportation (DOT) to fly from Miami to both Buenos Aires, Argentina and Santa Cruz, Bolivia for the upcoming winter season.

The Buenos Aires route, if approved, will operate twice-weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays from December 12, 2020. The route would be operated until March 27, 2021 using Boeing 767 aircraft.

Eastern Airlines to introduce nonstop flights from New York JFK to Los Cabos

Eastern Airlines (3rd) has announced twice-weekly service beginning August 29 from New York’s JFK International Airport to Los Cabos.

Eastern Airlines paints its first aircraft in the new livery

Eastern Airlines (3rd) has painted Boeing 767-238 ER N602KW (msn 23306, ex N250MY) in the new livery and announced the event on social media:

“This may not be the official unveiling we planned for our newly designed livery, but thanks to the amazing men and women working hard to help us bring stranded Americans home, we can share a sneak peak with you.”

The aircraft was ferried to Miami on April 17, 2020 after repainting.

Eastern Airlines starts scheduled flights again

Eastern Airlines (3rd) launched scheduled services from New York (JFK) on January 12, 2020.

Eastern is now operating a weekly nonstop fight to Guayaquil, Ecuador.

On March 5, 2020 the new version of Eastern will begin nonstop service from New York JFK to Georgetown, Guyana.

Eastern Airlines (3rd) is starting two new routes from New York (JFK) in early 2020:

Guayaquil starting on January 12, 2020

Georgetown starting on March 5, 2020

Is this a new livery for Eastern 3?

Eastern Airlines (3rd) (formerly Dynamic International Airways) has this image and logo on their website:

Is this a new livery and logo coming for the carrier? Currently the airline uses a basic Swift Air livery and blue/yellow logo (below).

The company completed a restructuring and name change in 2018.

In April 2018, Dynamic International Airways acquired the license to use the Eastern name from Swift Air.

Eastern Air Lines (2nd), the resurrection of the Eastern historic name and logo, was acquired by Swift Air in 2017. The last flight was conducted on September 14, 2017.
