Hainan Airlines today puts the first Airbus A350-900 into service

First Airbus A350-900 for Hainan Airlines

Hainan Airlines flight HU7607 took off from Beijing and landed at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport at 11:00 am on October 13 Beijing time, marking the successful completion of the maiden commercial revenue flight of the first Airbus A350 aircraft owned by Hainan Airlines Holding Co., Ltd.

The A350-900 provides passengers with a new standard ofย travel experience with its leading modern cabins. The business class comes equipped with the Staggered seat layout for enhancing passenger privacy and the classic Straight-Line design. In addition, the front section of economy class is equipped with 18″ wide seats that deliver up to 34-35″ in legroom, providing economy class passengers withย priority seat selection of extra legroom. Every seat of the aircraft comes with the seat-back entertainment system. Passengers on selected aircraft are also served cappuccino or espresso brewed by a high-end fully-automatic Nespresso capsule coffee machine.

Hainan Airlines’ young luxury fleet now counts over 400 aircraft, mainly consisting of Boeing 737s, 787s and Airbus 330s.

In 2018, the airline will add four new A350-900 aircraft, which will serve Hainan Airlines’ international and domestic routes with the aim of providing passengers with a more convenient and comfortable travel experience.

Malaysia Airlines takes delivery of its first Airbus A350-900

Malaysia Airlines' first Airbus A350-900 - Best Seller

ALC issued this statement:

On November 29, 2017, Air Lease Corporation announced the delivery of its first Airbus A350 XWB aircraft (A350-941 9M-MAB, msn 159), on lease to Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB).ย  This aircraft is the first of six new A350-900s leased to the airline, with the additional five aircraft delivering through the third quarter of 2018 from ALCโ€™s order book with Airbus.

Airbus issued this statement:

Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) has taken delivery of its first A350-900, leased from Air Lease Corporation, becoming the 17th airline to operate the worldโ€™s newest, most modern and efficient twin engine widebody airliner. The delivery was celebrated upon arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

ALC receives its first A350-900 out of an order for 29 A350 Family aircraft. Eventually Malaysia Airlines will operate six A350-900s, all leased from ALC.

Malaysia Airlines will initially deploy the aircraft on flights within Asia. From the first quarter of 2018, the A350 will fly on the airlineโ€™s premier long haul service from Kuala Lumpur to London.

Malaysia Airlines is the first carrier to offer a First Class cabin in the A350-900. The aircraft is configured in a three class cabin layout with a total of 286 seats. This comprises four in First Class, 35 in Business, featuring convertible seats to fully flat beds and 247 in Economy.

Malaysia Airlines already operates 24 Airbus aircraft including six A380, 15 A330-300 and three A330-200F on its regional routes and long haul services.

Malaysia Airlines to replace its Airbus A380s with new Airbus A350-900s, including London on March 5, 2018

Airline Color Scheme - Introduced 2012 (A380s only)

Malaysia Airlines is planning to gradually replace its Airbus A380 (above) on the Kuala Lumpur – London (Heathrow) route. The last A380 flight from LHR will be on March 5, 2018. The A380s are being replaced with the new 288-seat Airbus A350-900s (below) per Airline Route.

Malaysia will take delivery of its first Airbus A350 very soon and the new type will enter revenue service on December 9, 2017 between Kuala Lumpur and both Bangkok and Penang according to Airline Route.

Malaysia has six Airbus A380 in its fleet. Four are assigned to the London route and the other two are available for pilgrimage charters.

Malaysia is expected to retire the Airbus A380 fleet by June 2018.

Previously on September 12, 2017, Malaysia Airlinesย signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)ย with Boeing for 16 airplanes including eight 787-9 Dreamliners.
