Finnair and Turkish Airlines launch code shares

Finnair and Turkish Airlines today announced a codeshare agreement that brings more choice to the airlineโ€™s customers. Starting September 29, the Finnair AY code will be added to Turkish Airlines route between Helsinki and Istanbul, and from Istanbul to Athens, Sofia, Thessaloniki, Amman, Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, Luxor, Antalya and Gazipasa.ย  Respectively, the Turkish Airlines TK code will be added to the following routes from Finnairโ€™s Helsinki hub: Kuopio, Vaasa, Oulu, Rovaniemi, Reykjavik, Tallinn, Tartu, Riga, Vilnius, Antalya and Gazipasa.

Turkish Airlines flies to more countries and international destinations than any other airline in the world, and currently operates to more than 300 international passenger and cargo destinations in total, in 127 countries.

Finnair introduces nonstop long-haul flights from Stockholm Arlanda

Finnair to complete with SAS at ARN:

Finnair opens nonstop flight routes from Arlanda Airport, Stockholm in Sweden to Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand and Miami in the United States for the winter season 2021/2022.

All three routes will be operated with an Airbus A350-900 aircraft offering a smooth and modern travel experience.

As of October 22, 2021 Finnair flies from Arlanda to Bangkok five times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. From November 28, 2021 the weekly frequencies will be increased to seven and flights are operated from Monday through Sunday until April 22, 2022.

Flights from Arlanda to Phuket will be operated on Sundays as of October 24, 2021. An additional frequency will be added Thursday as of November 4, 2021 and for Tuesdays as of November 30, 2021. Flights to Phuket will be operated until April 21, 2022.

Flights from Arlanda to Miami will start with two weekly frequencies, on Wednesdays and Saturdays as of October 23, 2021. From November 29, 2021 flights will be operated also on Monday and Friday until April 22, 2022.

Finnair flies to Bangkok, Phuket and Miami also from its home base Helsinki Airport.

Finnair continues to grow in Japan, with daily flights to Haneda Airport

Finnairย isย addingย capacity to Japan with daily flights toย Tokyoโ€™sย Haneda Airport as ofย theย start ofย theย 2020ย summer season, subject toย slot availability.ย The new frequenciesย to and from Hanedaย will be in addition to Finnairโ€™s daily flights toย Tokyoโ€™sย Narita Airport.

Haneda Airport is convenientlyย locatedย in the city center of Tokyo.ย The new flights from Haneda will be codeshare flights with Finnairยดs long-term partner,ย Japan Airlines,ย which has a wide network of connecting flights from Haneda onwards to other destinations in Japan.

The planned schedule for Finnairยดs flight from Haneda is at night time whichย complementsย Finnairยดs morning flights from Narita,ย offering more options and flexibility to passengers.ย The exact timetable is subject to slot approvals.

Finnair currently operates to four destinations in Japan โ€“ Tokyo Narita, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka – and Japan is Finnairยดs largest market outside its home market Finland. The latest addition to Finnairโ€™s network in Japan is Sapporo in Hokkaido, where Finnairย willย startย operating on December 15, 2019.
