Delta to add New York JFK – Dubrovnik flights on July 2, 2021

Delta Air Lines has made this announcement:

  • Newย nonstopย service from New York-JFK toย Dubrovnikย launches July 2ย 
  • Flight marksย the first timeย Deltaย willย operateย nonstopย service to Croatiaย 
  • U.S. travelers welcomed to visitย with negative PCR test, vaccinationย or recent recovery certificateย โ€“ย and notย subject to quarantineย 

Customers longing to venture across the pond this summer have another high-demand destination toย rediscoverย โ€“ย newย four-times-weeklyย nonstopย service to Croatiaโ€™s Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) from New Yorkโ€™s John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK)ย beginning July 2.

Croatia welcomesย all travelersย who are fully vaccinated, haveย aย negative PCR test or proof of recent COVID-19 recovery. The nation is among Europeโ€™s most popular tourist getaways, offeringย rich history,ย stunning landscapesย andย plenty of outdoorย excursions.

Withย Deltaโ€™s extensive connectivity,ย hiking Croatiaโ€™s national parks orย exploringย itsย beach resortsย is onlyย oneย stop away via JFKย for travelersย acrossย 44ย U.S.ย cities.

The JFK-DBV route marks the first time Delta has operated serviceย directlyย to Croatia.

Flightsย to Croatia will operate on the 226-seat Boeing 767-300 featuring full-flat Delta One beds,ย Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin service.ย Customers can sit back and relax with hundreds of hours of the latest television shows, films, music and more on personal seatback entertainment screens,ย stay connected with Wi-Fi for purchaseย andย enjoy freeย mobileย messaging.

More outdoor destinations when flying Deltaย 

In addition to Croatia, Delta is welcoming back customers withย more flights to other open-air destinations, including:

  • Newย flightsย and returningย serviceย toย Reykjavรญk, Icelandย andย Athens, Greeceย fromย multiple gateways across the U.S.
  • Significantly expanding service toย Alaska, withย 23 dailyย flights to Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, Ketchikan andย Sitka
  • More than 70ย daily flights toย Mountain Westย destinations like Bozeman, Mont.,ย and Jackson Hole, Wyo.,ย with easy access toย national parks
  • Ampleย connection opportunitiesย to sunny beachesย and moreย with almost 90 daily flightsย to 78 Latin America and Caribbean leisure markets,ย includingย weeklyย service to 39 unique destinations.

This summer, Delta will operate approximately 4,000 daily flights to more than 200 domestic and more than 50 international destinations.

In other news, Delta is expanding its Delta Premium Select experience to more aircraft this spring, with plans to outfit its Boeingย 767-300ย aircraft beginning this May and Airbus A330 fleet beginning mid-July โ€“ just in time for customers considering their next trip abroad. Both fleet types will also receive additional upgrades like refreshed lavatories, new LED cabin lighting, expanded personal power outlets and memory-foam comfort cushions. Both aircraft will now have four cabin experiences to give customers more options whether booking for business or leisure: Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin.

Delta Premium Select, an elevated Delta cabin experience available on select international routes, debuted inย 2017 and features a wider seat, additional recline and an adjustable foot and leg rest on select widebody aircraft – offering customers more ways to cruise in comfort. Customers seated in Delta Premium Select also receive a TUMI amenity kit, noise-cancelling headsets and a blanket and pillow to help them arrive at their destination refreshed and relaxed.

Delta to restore seasonal nonstop New York-JFK – Rio de Janeiro flights

Delta Air Linesย will continue its nonstop seasonal service between New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport and Rio de Janeiro-GIG, boosting holiday season and Carnival travel. The flight will operate overnight southbound as before, but will return northbound in the morning, complementing our evening GIG-Atlanta flight.

For the third winter season in a row, the GIG-JFK route will be operated using a Boeing 767-300 aircraft- beginning on December 19, 2019, and running through March 9, 2020. The 225-passenger aircraft includes 25 Delta One flat-bed seats, featuring regionally inspired meals paired with wines selected by Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson and extra wide in-flight entertainment screens.

The following schedule and is now available for sale:

  • Departsย New York – JFK at 5:55 p.m. and arrives inย Rio de Janeiro – GIG at 6:45 a.m.
  • Departsย Rio de Janeiro- GIG at 9:10 a.m. and arrives inย New York – JFK at 4:10 p.m.

The seasonal service to Rio de Janeiro is one of Delta’s most successful routes, along with current service to other top Latin American business and leisure destinations such as Bogota, Cartagena, Quito, Lima, Santiago, Buenos Aires, and Sao Paulo.

From JFK Delta operates more than 200 flights per day to nearly 90 worldwide destinations, nearly 20 of those destinations are in Latin America and the Caribbean. In 2018, the airline announced new service between JFK and Antigua; Kingston, Jamaica; and Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
