Delta to start Hartford-Cleveland service on June 5

Delta Air Lines (Atlanta) continues to fill-in the void left by United Airlines (Chicago) at the slowly disappearing Cleveland hub. Delta will launch Delta Connection Bombardier CRJ700 service from Hartford/Springfield to Cleveland with one daily flight starting on June 5 per Airline Route. The operator is not specified, although GoJet Airlines is a likely candidate.

Southwest and Virgin America interested in buying AA-US slots at New York LaGuardia

Southwest Airlines (Dallas) and Virgin America (San Francisco) are interested in buying the slots at New York (LaGuardia) that American Airlines (Dallas/Fort Worth) and US Airways (Phoenix) have agreed to give up with the DOJ for the merger approval according to Reuters.

Lakeshore Express to operate from Pontiac to Chicago Midway starting on June 6

Lakeshore Express Aviation is moving its base from Chicago (Midway) (MDW) to Pontiac, Michigan (Oakland County International Airport) (PTK) near Detroit. The charter airline will start scheduled passenger services between Pontiac and Chicago Midway on June 6 with four roundtrips per week according to the carrier’s website. The flights will depart from the Atlantic Aviation facility at MDW on the south side. Flights will depart from the private terminal at PTK on the southwest side of the airport.

Flights are operated by Pentastar Aviation Charterย (Pontiac) using this 30-seat SAAB 340B. A service between Chicago (Midway) and Pellston, Michigan began in June 2011.
