South African Airways (Johannesburg) will take delivery of its first Airbus A330-200. The pictured A330-243 F-WWKL (msn 1191) will become ZS-SXZ on delivery.

South African Airways fiscal yearly profit rises 45% to $81.3 million

South African Airways (Johannesburg) reported its fiscal year profit rose 45 percent to $81.3 million according to this report by Bloomberg.

South African orders five more Airbus A320s

South African Airways (Johannesburg) has ordered five additional Airbus A320 aircraft, increasing an earlier commitment for the type from 15 to 20.ย  The aircraft, to be delivered from 2013, will be powered by IAE engines.

South African Airways already operates a fleet of 11 A319s, six A340-200s, six A340-300s and nine A340-600s.

JetBlue and South African Airways sign a new interline agreement

South African Airways (Johannesburg) has announced it will fly around the clock in order to handle the surge in traffic for the 2010 FIFA World Cup event. The flag carrier currently operates around 15 hours a day.

South African Airways (Johannesburg) reported a net profit of $53.4 million for its fiscal year. The company is also planning to lease six Airbus A330-200s to replace its A340-200s.
